Although rare in the current economic climate we have experience working with various “start-up” companies, some of which grow very quickly. These businesses are characterised by constantly outstripping their resources and difficulty in planning long-term. The best strategy is to build on technology that supports the greatest flexibility, thereby allowing an agile response to developing requirements.
One recent example is a client that has grown from four people in a serviced office to over 35 in a leased building over an 18 month period. Their growth is continuing to gather pace. We have provided strategic advice in planning communications links and IT infrastructure. The business is technology based so they have need to quickly provision test environments and generate large quantities of data. Our strategy has been to deploy a virtualised IT infrastructure that enables rapid server provisioning and flexible storage provisioning that extends out into the “cloud”.
